Application for the Freedom Public Art Project

fm View_North_to_ADSL_VietAID, in conjunction with the Boston Art Commission, announces that the Request for Qualifications for the Freedom Public Art Project in Dorchester, MA is now on-line and accepting applications from artists. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 20. There is an open meeting / Q & A session and site visit at the Field House at Doherty-Gibson Park on May 28 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

There is no fee to apply – all that’s needed is a resume, an artist’s statement, and up to 10 images of past work.

The Selection Panel will announce three finalists from among the applications by July 18. The finalists will then each receive an honorarium to create a site specific proposal. The proposals will be presented at a public meeting October 20, and remain on view for public comment through October. The winning proposal will be announced in early November.
