Since the spring of 2008 Viet-AID has been counseling individual homeowners at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure. Viet-AIDs services in this area have been widely publicized and advertised in local Vietnamese media. The situation of each homeowner that turns to Viet-AID for help in preventing foreclusre is carefully assessed and an action plan is developed with the home-owner. Viet-AID has worked successfully with many home mortgage lenders to modify the terms of mortgages to make them more manageable for homeowners… and has helped over twenty homeowners avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes.
