Family Childcare Program:

Viet-AID’s Family Childcare Program now has 8 home-based childcare providers and one approved assistant currently providing service to 54 children. Currently, four more participants are completing their training program.  

The Family Childcare Program receives funding from the City of Boston through its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This funding enables us to raise awareness about early childhood education issues in the Vietnamese community by publicizing our program and placing news articles in the Vietnamese-language newspaper. We also conduct parent workshops, family nights, and holiday parties. The program provides simultaneous Vietnamese translation at family childcare trainings and interpretation of curriculum materials. Ongoing training is an important component of our program as it contributes to our providers’ professional development and ongoing provision of high quality childcare services.
