Vovinam, a Vietnamese Martial Arts, is a sport and a way of life to develop character and empower youth. The Center currently has more than 10 trainers and approximately 100 disciples from 6 to 60 years old practicing at VACC on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Vietnamese American Civic Association (VACA)
VACA is a Mutual Assistance Association established in 1984 by Vietnamese refugees to help Vietnamese immigrants and refugees realize economic stability, social integration, and a successful transition to the United States. VACA provides English to Speakers of Other Languages classes, citizenship and civics classes, health education and outreach, youth development programs, elderly services, and workforce development services. Asian American Resource Workshop (AARW) & Dorchester Organizing and Training Initiative (DOT-I)
AARW is a member-based organization that uses arts, education, and activism to build the skills and political analysis of our pan-Asian membership and work for the empowerment of the Asian Pacific American community to achieve its full participation in U.S. society. Lien Doan Bach Dang Huong Dao Boston (Boy and Girl Scouts)
The Boy & Girl Scout Troops meet at the Community Center and are divided into four different age groups. The groups have joining requirements that must be completed, including participation in a camping trip each year to maintain active scouting status.
