Viet-AID offers first-time homeownership classes that will provide you with comprehensive counseling on topics such as credit building and management and mortgage qualification, and assessing the inventory of affordable homes in the City of Boston.

Viet-AID has counseled hundreds of prospective first-time homebuyers who have purchased homes in Boston and surrounding towns. Viet-AID also sponsors a Credit Smart program that helps individuals learn how to build, improve or repair their credit in anticipation of future home purchases.

Foreclosure Prevention

Since the spring of 2008 Viet-AID has been counseling individual homeowners at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure. Viet-AIDs services in this area have been widely publicized and advertised in local Vietnamese media. The situation of each homeowner that turns to Viet-AID for help in preventing foreclusre is carefully assessed and an action plan is developed with the home-owner. Viet-AID has worked successfully with many home mortgage lenders to modify the terms of mortgages to make them more manageable for homeowners... and has helped over twenty homeowners avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes.
