VietAID’s Summer Youth Leadership Program (SYLP)

Hello youth, community members, and community partners!

Our application for VietAID’s Summer Youth Leadership Program (SYLP) is officially open!

SYLP is a paid opportunity for high school students in Dorchester to engage with a social justice curriculum about their identities and social movements. Youth Leaders will build leadership skills by implementing a community project to address current social injustices!

SYLP will focus on two projects this summer: 1) a food justice initiative to support a pilot community garden in Town Field Park and 2) an education justice project to understand youth mental health needs in Boston Public Schools.

Priority Deadline: Sunday, April 17th (Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis)

Program Schedule:  Program will run for 7 weeks, from 07/05 to 08/19. Youth Leaders will work 20 hours per week.

Eligibility: Youth must turn 15 years old on or before September 1st, 2022 and cannot turn 19 years old on or before September 1st, 2022
